Backup & Restore

Using File Explorer copy \My Documents\RADB\RADB.cdb

Paste RADB.cdb in the \CF card\RADB_Backup\Data_Backup

Rename the file to the current date.
Keep these backup files on your PDA until you are confident that the data has been transferred to a secure drive (Office computer) or you are running low on memory. In this case delete older files first as the last file from each week should contain data from the the whole week.
If the battery on your PDA should fully discharge for some reason, the main memory will be lost included data that was not backed up to the CF card and programs.
To restore the PDA to the state when you first received it follow the steps below.

Charge the PDA

Turn the PDA on, after initial screen click Start --> Programs

Find the ‘Data Backup’ program (Called iPAQ Backup)

Select the ‘Restore’ tab. If given the choice the Restore is located on the CF card/Storage Card and is called default.dbk or backup.pdb.

After the process end you will need to do a soft reset. Using your stylus push and hold the reset button for several seconds. (Dell – on the left side, one below the record button. iPAQ, on the bottom to the right of the cable port.
If for some reason there is no backup file on the CF card you should create one before you begin working on the PDA.

Open Start --> Programs

Find the ‘Data Backup’ program (Called iPaq Backup)

Select CF card as the Backup location instead of Built-in Storage

Press Start
