Welcome to RAPnet!

This site brings many of the Department's varied data collections, compilation, and disseminations efforts under one comprehensive site.   RAPnet enhances the Department's need to address resource assessment priorities and refocus many of our existing efforts in the collection, analysis, and use of data on native fish, wildlife, plants, and communities.

Important aspects of this site are to enhance consistency and coordination among biological disciplines, and ensure that our specific monitoring programs and activities throughout the state are focused on obtaining important and useful information for the Department, decision-makers, and the public.

This site focuses on several key program objectives:
  • Provide a tool to aid in the prioritization of species, natural communities, and native habitats for survey, monitoring, and applied research.
  • Assist the integration among the various biological disciplines in the Department, regional governing authorities and other non-government organizations.
  • Provide a Program data distribution center for use in regional and statewide assessments.
  • Supply a clearing house for Resource Assessment Program documents, tools, and events.
  • Support the exchange of ideas by providing a forum for resource assessment staff, other Department scientists, and collaborating scientists from other agencies, universities, and conservation organizations.
